About the project

Dissolved is a fictional exhibition environment designed as part of a scenography course, developed in collaboration with the Naturhistorisches Museum Basel. The brief called for an immersive space addressing the threats facing marine molluscs and crustaceans, from microplastic contamination to ocean acidification, through a combination of a contemplative rest area and a series of interactive information stations.

The spatial concept immerses visitors in a deep-sea atmosphere: bioluminescent light strings, geological coral forms, and wireframe sculptural elements evoke an underwater environment on the edge of collapse. Interactive stations invite direct engagement with the data, making the invisible threats to marine life tangible and legible.

A companion publication, "Meeresbewohner in Gefahr", was produced alongside the exhibition, offering deeper context on the ecological threats explored in the space.
